El día de Sant Jordi (San Jorge) es un día muy especial en Cataluña, como muchos debéis saber. Aún así por si hay algún despistado os cuento un poco!
Es el día de los libros y de los enamorados, donde los hombres deben darle una rosa a las mujeres que quieren y que son importantes en sus vidas y ellas deben darles un libro. Por supuesto, esto ha cambiado, ahora tanto chicos como chicas reciben rosas y libros indistintamente. Aún así, existe una ley no escrita en que las parejas tienen que hacer algo romántico hoy y ellos suelen ser a los que más les toca currárselo! Sorry chicos, nos gusta que nos regalen flores (y libros también).
Supongo que conoceréis la leyenda del caballero Sant Jordi (perdón por llamarlo así, pero se me hace MUY raro llamarlo San Jorge) en la que rescata a una princesa de un dragón que atacaba al pueblo. Pues bien, buscando por la Wikipedia he descubierto que la versión que contamos en Cataluña no se explica igual en todos lados así que os voy a contar el final de nuestra versión, porque el resto es muy parecido. Cuando Sant Jordi mató al dragón, de la sangre de éste salió una rosa y Sant Jordi se la regaló a la princesa como muestra de su amor.
Así que ya veis, por eso se regalan rosas.
Así que, como AMO la fiesta de Sant Jordi y el ambiente que hay por las calles repletas de gente, de rosas y de libros he decidido dejaros unas cuantas manualidades con las que podéis hacer vuestra propia rosa de Sant Jordi!
Como veis, esta es solo la primera parte, pero es que tengo muchísimas más manualidades para hacer diferentes tipo de rosas en mi tablero de Pinterest (aquí) y he decidido que me los reservaré para otros Sant Jordi. Si aún así queréis buscarlos os animo a entrar en mi tablero (aquí) y buscar vosotros mismos, aunque os aviso que me he obsesionado un poquitín con Pinterest y no puedo dejar de pinear, así que estáis advertidos!

Saint George's day it's a special day here in Catalonia. It is the second most important National Feast in Catalonia, where the day is known in Catalan as "La Diada de Sant Jordi", and it is traditional to give a rose and a book to a loved one. (Wikipedia dixit)
So, it's books and lovers day. It's a tradition that the girl must give a book to the boy and the boy must give her a rose. That's changed of course, and a lot of people give roses to their mothers, sisters or any girl in their lifes, girls receive books too and even boys receives roses too.
However, boyfriends must do something romantic today and give at least a rose to her girl (it's a not write law).
If you know the legend of Saint George and the Dragon (wikipedia here) you will know that Saint George killed a Dragon to save the princess, well, here we add an extra to the legend saying that from the dragon's blood a rose was born and Saint Geoger gave the rose to the princes as a form of his love for her. And the rest is history.
So, I just LOVE Saint George's day and the streets crowded and roses and books everywhere you look and I thought "why not do anything related?" and here it is. Roses to do for everybody! (it's the first part because I have a LOT of tutorials to make roses, but I will save it for other Saint George's days (however, if you want to look for it in my Pinterest pinboard go away! You may need some time because I'm a Pintaholic and I just can't stop pinning! :P)
